Recently some of TheXboxHub team (and special guests) got together down in London for an evening of iconic video game music with BAFTA Games in Concert, spanning award-winning and nominated pieces from the past 20 years of the BAFTA Games Awards.
So forgive a little showing off at the start of Episode 224 of TheXboxHub Official Podcast, but the team are still on a high after the experience. It’s an intimate affair this time around, as Darren and Gareth get together to reminisce a little, but also shift their focus to some breaking news stories such as the announcement that Baldur’s Gate 3 (there it is again) is getting a TV series.

A new month is here and so TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 180 features a look ahead to what new games are releasing in October. Furthermore, there’s an in-depth analysis of EA Sports FC 24 alongside a selection of other titles the team have been playing lately.
The terrific trio of Gareth, James, and Paul, are the ‘experts’ on hand this week. After a brief chat about K-dramas on Netflix and a week of rehearsals for our host, it’s straight into discussing the games they’ve spent time playing recently. You’ll find out whether EA Sports FC 24 gets the series off to a flyer, why Demolish & Build Classic is one to avoid, and how Shuyan Saga blends action into a visual novel. There are also thoughts on the nightmarish survival horror Ad Infinitum and the almost indescribable Cocoon.
And finally the team look ahead to what’s coming to Xbox this month, sharing how excited or disinterested they are about the likes of Forza Motorsport, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Sonic Superstars, Sword Art Online Last Recollection, and lots more.
If you wish to comment on anything discussed in TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 180, or ask any questions for us to respond to in future episodes, feel free to do so!

The ID@Xbox showcase has aired and so the team have come together for TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 170 to see whether the future is bright for the indie scene. It also features opinions on a selection of recently released titles including AEW: Fight Forever and Inner Ashes.
Join Gareth, James, Paul and Richard as they start off the episode with a quick catch-up on their daily lives. There’s a TV recommendation, a rant about London, praise for AI chat bots, and an update on language studies. Things swiftly move on to the ID@Xbox showcase, with chatter about the games which caught our attention, in either a good or bad way. You’ll hear our thoughts on the following games:
In regards to the games TheXboxHub team have been playing lately, you’ll get the lowdown on a variety of titles. There’s the squad-based RTS The Valiant, crab catching in Deadliest Catch: The Game, Inner Ashes raising awareness for Alzheimer’s, the chill vibes of City Limits, and some Saints Row DLC. A double dose of wrestling is on the cards too, with AEW: Fight Forever and an early build of WrestleQuest in the spotlight.
And finally, the latest news surrounding the Xbox and Activision Blizzard merger is discussed alongside rumours of the next major Assassin’s Creed setting.

It’s finally time for us to get stuck into the Xbox Games Showcase and find out whether the future is looking bright for the players. You’ll also be treated to a deep discussion on Starfield as well as a roundup of what Ubisoft Forward had to offer. So please, settle down and enjoy our musings in TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 167.
Join Gareth, James, Paul and Richard for a slightly longer than usual episode packed with opinions. Unsurprisingly, Starfield is the main focus at the beginning as the team shares whether the extended look at it has made them more, or less, interested in playing on day one. They also break down many of the key features that stood out, before moving on to the rest of the Xbox Games Showcase.
The Xbox Games Showcase gets fully analysed, with highlights and lowlights picked out by our quartet. As such, you can expect to hear honest feedback on the following titles:
Before wrapping up, the Ubisoft Forward receives the same treatment. Did the likes of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, The Crew Motorfest, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage, manage to satisfy the team? How excited are they for Skull and Bones? Will they be bingeing Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix upon its release?
Tune in for the answers.

It’s been a slow news week, but fortunately for you our team still has a shed load of games to chat about, including Deliver Us Mars and DC’s Justice League: Cosmic Chaos. There’s even a quiz, so be sure to tune in and give a listen to TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 153.
Join Gareth, James, Paul, and Neil as they discuss all sorts in the opening segment regarding what they’ve been up to recently. The Elvis film gets a mention alongside someone’s birthday plans, a trip to the butchers and an online concert for a rookie Kpop group, tripleS. What more could you ask for?
If you’re here for gaming opinions though, the variety of titles covered in this episode is impressive. Expect the likes of sci-fi experience Deliver Us Mars, the mythical action of The Pathless, co-op puzzler We Were Here Forever, the classic with a twist Project SNAQE, and 3D adventure Togges, to be on the agenda. There’s another too, but it’s a bit of a mouthful - Puzzle Bobble 2X/BUST-A-MOVE 2 Arcade Edition & Puzzle Bobble 3/BUST-A-MOVE 3 S-Tribute.
Focus then switches to DC’s Justice League: Cosmic Chaos, simply because James attended a special online demo event ahead of its release. You’ll get insight into the upcoming action-adventure and will be able find out which of your favourite DC characters are appearing in it.
Following that is a carefully curated quiz by Gareth, with the other team members fighting it out for bragging rights. It’s a cracker you won’t want to miss.
If you wish to comment on anything discussed in TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 153, complain about the answers to the quiz, or ask any questions for us to respond to in future episodes, feel free to do so!

Reaching such an important milestone like 150 and coinciding with the Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct is surely fate. Therefore, in TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 150 we’re going to discuss the latest showcase, but that’s not all as it’s also an opportunity to see whether Forspoken is being fairly or unfairly criticised. Tune in to find out more!
In this week’s episode, expect to hear the vocal delights of Gareth, James, Paul, and Richard. After a brief catch-up, where Our Flag Means Death comes highly recommended, attention turns straight to the big showcase.
Every aspect of the Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct is delved into, with unbiased opinions given on the games featured. You’ll hear whether Minecraft Legends has done enough to draw us in, if Forza Motorsport could be a petrolhead’s dream, and what the team thought about the world of Redfall. While the next chapter of Elder Scrolls Online didn’t quite grab our attention, there’s plenty of positive chatter in regards to the surprise unveiling of Hi-Fi Rush at least.
And finally, the gang couldn’t finish without sharing what games they’ve been playing recently. It’s a real eclectic mix as the much criticised PlayStation exclusive Forspoken is judged alongside the likes of Persona 3 Portable, Chasing Static, and Gundam Evolution.
If you wish to comment on anything discussed in TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 150, or ask any questions for us to answer in future episodes, feel free to do so!

After a lengthy hiatus, TheXboxHub team returns to look ahead to the most anticipated titles coming out in 2023 like Starfield and Redfall, as well as going over the usual segments. There’s also bad news regarding the upcoming release Skull and Bones. So get ready to hear about games, games, and even more games in TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 148, with a little bit of TV and film thrown in for good measure.
Kicking off the new year are Gareth, Paul, and Richard. First up on the agenda are some viewing recommendations such as the rather dark horror The Menu, the big budget Avatar: The Way of Water and Apple TV+’s spy thriller Slow Horses.
And then the focus turns to the games, with thoughts on what our trio have been playing lately. There’s sure to be something to pique your interest as High on Life, God of War Ragnarök, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Strategic Mind: Fight for Freedom and Backpack Twins get time in the spotlight.
Moving on to the upcoming games that the team are most looking forward to getting their hands on, and it’s a real mixed bag. The obvious big hitters such as Starfield, Redfall, and Forza Motorsport are mentioned alongside Coffee Talk 2, Deliver Us Mars, and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. With news of Skull and Bones being delayed again, it’s slipping further down the pecking order.
Enough about us though, what games are you looking forward to in 2023? Do they differ to our chosen titles?

If you want to hear opinions about the latest games to hit the market, then you’ve come to the right place as TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 144 is full of them. We’ve got big hitters like A Plague Tale: Requiem and Persona 5 Royal, plus a varied selection of others to ponder. There are also fresh takes on the hottest news topics, so be sure to tune in and enjoy our offering!
This week sees Gareth, Darren and Paul in attendance, who kick things off with a quick catch-up. Nothing is off the table with this segment, with health updates just as likely to pop up as a popular TV show like The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power getting a mention. One of the trio had a gaming-related excursion too.
In terms of actual games, the team has plenty to discuss. The excellently brutal A Plague Tale: Requiem and the perfect RPG Persona 5 Royal are front and centre, but that’s not all. Get ready to learn more regarding the multiplayer antics of The Jackbox Party Pack 9, the gruesome puzzler Scorn, surviving the middle ages in Medieval Dynasty, a returning classic in the form of The House of the Dead Remake, the KEMCO RPG Dragon Prana, and the metroidvania horror of Moonscars.
Of course, the episode couldn’t be wrapped up without a word on the controversy surrounding Bayonetta 3, the Silent Hill showcase, or the potential of the Sims on next-gen hardware.

Settle down for another edition of our weekly podcast, with Gareth, James, Darren and Paul at the ready. We’ve got the likes of Saints Row and eFootball 2023 on the agenda, looking at whether they’re worthy additions to their respective series’ or simply living off past glories. There are plenty more games to discuss and a quiz too, so don’t miss TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 138.
Also on this episode, Paul’s delving into a double dose of downloadable content in the form of The Riftbreaker Metal Terror DLC and the Aliens: Fireteam Elite Pathogen expansion. Outside of gaming, Only Murders in the Building and The Rehearsal have piqued our interest on TV and streaming services. It’s been a quiet week otherwise and so what better way to end than with another quiz for us to show off our gaming knowledge.
If you wish to comment on anything discussed in TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 138, or ask any questions for us to answer in future episodes, feel free to do so!

There’s rarely a quiet week in the gaming world and so it’s no surprise that we’ve got plenty to discuss ahead of Gamescom in TheXboxHub Official Podcast Episode 136. Whether it’s the numerous delays hitting games, or the potential unveiling of a zombie island sequel, nothing comes close to the battle between Sony and Xbox Game Pass. We’re going to discuss the ‘blocking rights’ as well as a whole load of games we’ve been playing like Thymesia and Digimon Survive. So, please give us a listen and enjoy!
Join Gareth, James, Richard and Paul, who have been busy indulging in all kinds of TV and film. You’ll get insight on the Better Call Saul finale, charming Netflix series Extraordinary Attorney Woo, and a classic James Bond offering in the form of Tomorrow Never Dies. Meanwhile, Paul has a good moan about London.
In terms of games we can give opinions on, the aforementioned Souls-like Thymesia and the visual novel tactical RPG Digimon Survive are on the agenda. There’s also talk regarding modernised Minesweeper game Tilesweeper, the eerie adventure Kona, arcade shooter After Wave Downfall, roguelike golfing experience Cursed to Golf, turn-based affair Solasta: Crown of the Magister, and the origami-inspired A Tale of Paper: Refolded.
After the discussion about blocking rights, delays and such, there’s just time for a quick quiz; one that’s back by popular demand.
