Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froone were living their best life. They had just graduated from college and wanted to celebrate by going on the adventure of a lifetime- Panama! One day, Kris sent her BF a quick FB message letting him know she and Lisanne would be going on a hike and then.. no one ever heard from them again. 10 weeks later their remains were found 14 hours walking distance from the trail's head. Their phones and cameras had been in use on and off for 11 days before being turned off for the final time. What happened to them? And what's the deal with a missing photo deleted from the digital camera? The one photo that seems to separate "happy, fun, go lucky" Lisanne and Kris and "creepy AF" pics of darkness?! Don't get me wrong, I love hiking, but this episode is making me rethink all my life choices. This case reminds us that nature is beautiful but it can also be terrifying...

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, today we will be delving into a cryptid of latin origin. The Chupacabra is a relatively new creature, first reported in the 1990s. The first sighting was made on the tiny island of Puerto Rico and since then, sightings have been reported thoughout the world. One thing you may not know, is that not all locations view the chupacabra the same. In Mexico and Puerto Rico the animal has a more reptilian appearance and in the southwestern United States, the chupacabra is described more like a canine. After a 10 month man hunt to secure Gene Leroy Hart who had been evading police detection after escaping prison. After years of uncertainty, 3 boys willingly subject themselves to a polygraph. The polygraph answers don't provide concrete answers but... one boy's confession, prior to the test, changes everything!

It all started at Kmart. A 2 year old girl was found abandoned in the parking lot. She wouldn't answer anyone's questions. A woman later saw the little girl's picture in the paper and immediately recognized her as her grand-daughter Crystal. The two were reunited and Crystal's grandmother asked her, "Where is mommy?" Jaliek Rainwalker was born to a mother addicted to cocaine. Naturally, he was placed into foster care until he was later adopted by the McDonald-Kerr Family. Cassandra Rundle had, within the past year, posted 2 ads in a local paper looking for "one good man" she asked that men send her a letter with their picture to her home address. 85 men responded. On February 14th, 1985, Cassandra and her daughter were assaulted and murdered in their home. Detreicht walked in on it, after playing hockey with friends. The perpetrator then set his sights on Detreicht and killed him with his own hockey stick. Cassandra had been looking for "one good man" and now the Colorado Springs detectives are on the hunt for "one evil SOB."

There is a tiny mountain town located in the Adirondack Mountains in Upstate NY, you might be familiar with their chairs ;) The name of the town is Old Forge. You might witness a deer or perhaps even a black bear as they are known to stroll the roads. What you might not know is that there are spirits that roam the roads at night as well. I first learned about this case several years ago and it has been haunting me ever since. This case is devastating and just goes to show how important it is to follow protocols when obtaining evidence and DNA at a crime scene. In 1993, these protocols didn't exist, so it was no fault of the officers working the case... but the fact remains that by handling evidence the way that they did is the reason this case remains unsolved to this day.

Sharon was 16 when she met James Kinne at an LDS church function. The two began a steamy relationship, which ended in August when James went back to BYU for school. On a cold and dreary October Day in Potsdam, NY ( a teeny town near the border of Canada) Marissa Vogel and her boyfriend had just settled down to eat dinner and watch their favorite show: Dexter. After about 20 minutes, they heard running in the apartment next door followed by a crash and a loud thud. Then they heard someone say "Ow" or maybe it was "No." But then they distinctly heard a child's voice call for help. Marissa knew children lived next door so she went to investigate. She knocked on the door. Nothing. She knocked again. Nothing. Then as she turned to walk away, she heard the lock on the door "click"... Chills ran down her spine. Imagine a time when there was no tamper proof packaging on your medications. I know it sounds like it was a bazillion years ago but nope it was just the 80s. Yes, the oh so sweet & naive 80s. Within a ridiculously short amount of time 7 people had died in the Chicago area immediately after taking extra strength Tylenol. Was Chicago cursed? Were these people just terribly unlucky? Or... was it murder?

The Warminster Thing is hard to describe without using the word "thing" multiple times. The string of events that occurred are just so bizarre that you can't really label it. 

Early one morning in 1964, strange audio and visual things began to happen in a small town in the UK. At first the town thought only a few loony bins saw it- but no!  Hundreds and hundreds of credible witnesses were adamant that they had seen or heard something that morning and in the following days. One man, even snagged a few pictures on his camera. 

You might be happy to know that there are no murders in this episode... unless you count an unfortunate flock of pigeons. Poor pigeons. :'(

**Listener Request Alert!** On December 23rd 1974, 3 girls went to the mall for some last minute Christmas shopping. They were supposed to return by 4PM but they never did. The next day a letter was received, supposedly from the eldest girl, but was she really the one who sent it? How were 3 girls abducted from a busy public setting without alerting anyone? Was it someone they knew or someone they thought they could trust? Not only have the families suffered due to these and many other unanswered questions, but the private investigator they hired had his case files destroyed upon his death. In a single night, New Years Eve 1983 to 1984, 16,000 people were reported missing. One of those people was Samuel Todd. A 24 year old student of religion at Yale University in Manhattan, NY. He had been partying all night long with friends and his younger brother, he'd even run into an ex-girlfriend, when he suddenly left the dance floor to... JOG?! Yup, jog. It has been 35 years since that mysterious night and yet, that was the last anyone has seen of him. What the heck happened to Samuel Todd?

In 1985, over Christmas Break, beloved nurse Debbie Wolfe was found dead in her pond inside of a burn barrel. But was there a burn barrel? Who knows.. because POLICE LOST IT! Yup, they lost a 55 Gallon Burn Barrel. But it's okay because according to police this was obviously a suicide by drowning even though the M.E is full on "nope-ing" that theory AND SHE WAS FOUND INSIDE OF A BURN BARREL!!  Just when you think it can't get any weirder, it does. A single message was left on Debbie's machine and the message appears to be left a few days TOO SOON. You'll even hear our VERY FIRST sound byte in today's episode. You are sure to make at least one audible gasp and pull out some of your own hair (and maybe even someone else's) throughout the course of this episode. I guarantee it.

Because even though they have a witness saying they saw someone with JoAnn that night... The cops found some butt prints and hand prints in the snow across the street by a lake... Like when America decided to initiate a "National Prison Reform Program" so convicted rapists and murderers could drive and go shopping in civilian attire unsupervised. This was designed to allow them to develop the skills they would need to re-enter society.

And, I know this is going to be hard to digest, but wouldn't you know some inmates took ADVANTAGE of this program?! Yeah, pretty unbelievable am I right? *insert eye roll here*

This story is about a man who escaped while shopping for Christmas gifts at a local shopping mall in 1972 and is still on the run to this day!

On May 31,1995, Jennifer Fairgate, a beautiful and elegant woman checked into the posh Plaza Hotel in Oslo, Norway. A few days later she was found dead in her room after having taken her own life. Only she wasn't Jennifer Fairgate and police (and a scrappy journalist) weren't so sure it was a suicide after all.

Jack Wheeler was a Vietnam veteran, former white house aid, current cybersecurity consultant, and a devoted husband and father. He dedicated his life to serving and being useful. In fact, as soon as he returned from Vietnam he made it his mission to make sure those fallen veterans were remembered by aiding in the construction of the Vietnam Veteran Memorial. He also fought hard to rid the stigma associated with mental health and the veterans who do make it back home. 

This man was a prime example of what it means to be a patriot... so how on Earth did he end up dead in a landfill? And what can we make of the bizarre behavior he exhibited on several surveillance tapes shortly before his death?

When Derek and Maria purchased their dream home, they couldn't wait to move in their young family of 5. They were moving to Westfield, NJ into a super safe neighborhood... or so it would seem DUN DUN DUN!

It wasn't long before the family began receiving unsettling and at times threatening letters from an entity who claimed to be, "The Watcher." 

Edgar Allan Poe, considered the Father of the detective mystery was an incredibly talented, internationally known poet and writer. 

Poe was the first to make writing a full time career, and not just a side hustle. His life and his life's work was shrouded in mystery and it's only fitting that his untimely death was also. On October 3rd, he was found in a gutter on Election day dressed in someone else's clothing... 4 days later he was dead.

Fueled by delusions and hallucinations, his final words were, "Reynolds, Reynolds, Reynolds." Was this Poe's attempt to name his killer? Or was it simply the hallucinations of a dying man? Could he have acquired rabies? Was it, perhaps, an undiagnosed brain tumor? Was it cooping? What on Earth IS COOPING?!

2nd week of the October Halloween Series. My mom doesn't like walking through fake haunted houses during Halloween... but she's stayed the night at several haunted hotels throughout the country. Three. The answer is very disappointingly, three.

This episode gave me the creeps writing it... so consider yourself warned. This delves into the stalking turned murder of Dorothy Jane Scott. Keep in mind stalking was not taken seriously until the mid to late 90s and while things have certainly improved over the years... let's not kid ourselves, the laws still pretty much suck.

Lindsay Buziak was elated to have the opportunity to sell her first million dollar home... but as excited as she was, she had this nagging feeling that something was off about these new clients. This is the puzzling (and most likely unknown to you) case of Rudy Allen Rothberg. This case is almost half a century old and there doesn't seem to be any resolution in sight. We'll talk about my hometown, and a neighborhood considered "undesirable" by local officials. We'll delve into their "brilliant" plan to solve their unwanted problem that ended up decimating their entire city and potentially creating a climate of desperation that may have contributed to the motive for Mr. Rothberg's unfortunate demise.
